This study is discussing the intervening effect of group counseling on the shyness of primary students. The main objectives are:(1) to design a group counseling program for primary shy children and make practical use in real life.(2) to discover the effect of group counseling on children’s shyness.The experiment –control(pretest-posttest) group method was designed in the study. According to the score of “Shyness Inventory for Children in Primary School” from the fifth and sixth grade students of Shenbei Affiliated School in Shenyang, Liaoning Province.20 shy children were investigated. Take the group counseling as independent variable, which has 60 minutes or 90 minutes a time, once a week, 7 times in total, and take the shyness of children as dependent variable. The study was to discuss the effect of group counseling on the shyness of primary school.Conclusions:(1) The implementation of the program of group counseling can reduce the extent of primary school children shyness: That shy children to participate in group counseling(experimental group) and did not participate in group counseling shy children(control group), there are significant differences in the primary school children Shy Scale score.(2) Establish a set of group counseling program of activities to improve primary school children shyness.
