The world all languages have a "existential" meaning of the sentence.This research basis on the predecessors’ research achievements,seized the existential sentence characteristics of the three plane theory that grammar, semantics and pragmatic, the combination of comprehensive analysis and research of existential sentences in modern Chinese. So far, according to the data from our understanding some of the research has not been involved in the comparative study of Chinese and Vietnamese. The existential sentences are complex, difficult to grasp the significance of grammar, so far failed to reach a consensus among scholars in the grammar. There are similarities and differences in the various aspects of existential sentences between the Chinese and Vietnamese, so, I think further study of the existential sentences in two languages is meaningful. In the study, this article first outline the current research status of existential sentences in Chinese and Vietnamese, and then define the definition of the existential sentences in Chinese and Vietnamese. Second, the comparison and analysis of the various types in the syntactic and semantic existential sentences with three aspects to discuss the similarities and differences of two kinds of grammar points.Thus, reveals the general rule of existential sentence grammatical functions in two languages. This paper hope through the comparative study of two languages, there will be provide some help for teaching Chinese as a foreign language and translation.
