With the fast development of the comparative study on words of human body, the idioms and slangs containing of human body are always being the object in the academic field. In Chinese and Vietnamese, the idioms and slangs which contains the words of human body are rich and diverse. Thus, the analysis of this article takes the idioms and slangs of Chinese and Vietnamese as the study scope, and words related to the“eye” as the research object. Base on the theory of cognitive linguistics,the author has explained idioms and slangs of “eye”(i.e. “m?t”) in Chinese and Vietnamese and analyze their similarities and difference through quantitative statistics, metaphor classification and contrastive analysis on the cognitive metaphor of idioms and slangs of eyes in Chinese and Vietnamese. In the end, two conclusions have been drawn:first, the cognition of human beings and matters can be expressed through language; second, Chinese culture has a profound impact on Vietnamese culture, which is particularly reflected on the influence of the Chinese language to Vietnamese language.
