Practice Report On The Chinese Translation Of The Cloud Security Articles In Information Week

In the era of big data, it has been commonly acknowledged that there are significant strategic values and industrial opportunities in cloud computing as a means of changing the competitions of the global IT industry. Cloud security has become a main challenging issue that hinders the further development and wider application of cloud computing technology. It is the cloud security that provides more potential for the internet security. It is the developing trend of the future market.This report is based on the writer’s translation of some articles of cloud security in Information Week. Analysis is made on the Chinese translation of many English metaphors in the articles. The report includes four parts- the translation task description, the translation procedure description, the case analysis of the translation and the conclusion. The translation task description part presents the background and the features of the task. The translation procedure description part is an introduction to the specific procedure of the translation. In the case analysis part, the translation problems concerning with metaphors are presented and the translation strategies of such metaphors are analyzed such as literal translation plus meaning compensation, changes of metaphorical objects and free translation. The conclusion part summarizes the unsolved problems in the translation. Hopefully this report may be helpful for further learning and translation.
