This is a project report on the translation of Chapters 11 and 31 of Cloud Computing Security Foundations and Challenges.Chapter 11 is related to the cryptography of cloud computing, and Chapter 31 introduces the security challenges faced in cloud computing and the cloud security architectures, laying a foundation for solving security problems in cloud computing.According to Reiss' s text type theory, the source text is objective, with strong logic and coherence in language which belongs to the informative text.In addition, the source text is also featured with many professional terms and abbreviations. In view of its text type and characteristics, the main difficulty in translation is to accurately convey the meaning of the source text.Under the guidance of the functional equivalence theory,in terms of how to convey the original information accurately so that the target language readers can obtain the similar response as the source language readers, the author adopts specific translation strategies, such as the application of literal translation, omission and conversion in the lexical level;amplification, division adjustment of word order and voice conversion in the syntactic level in order to improve the accuracy of the translation on the basis of realizing lexical equivalence and syntactic equivalence, and to provide some reference for other translators.
