The Research About The Influence Of Literati Paintings To The Gusu Woodcuts In The Middle Of Qing Dynsty

It was the Mid-Qing Dynasty most special period all through the whole development of the Gusu woodcut.It was characterized by huge size,themes’ wide-ranging,elegant color and won the important position in the history of printmaking.In the same period, the elegance and literary of Gusu woodcut was most evident among other kinds of printmaking in different areas. The author believes that it was the literati paintings the origin of the Gusu woodcut’s elegant style. But in numerous studies,scholars usually tend to focus on the influence from western printings. What’s more, literati painter s’intervention was also the important cofactor.Literati painter seemed to related to the way that western printings act on Gusu woodcut.Besides,they were also related to the decline of Western painting in the late Qing.Therefore,the author will specifically discuss the detailed behavior that literati paintings influenced the Gusu woodcut from three aspects--the artistic content,the artistic language and the artistic thoughts.The specific influence that the literati paintings acted on the Gusu woodcuts will be disclosure.The particularity and the artisty of the Gusu woodcuts are also the focal point in this research.
