Records of Zhou Ziliang’s Dreams(周氏冥通记)is an important Taoist works in The Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties, recording the content of conversation with immortals in dreams of the Maoshan Taoist priest Zhou Ziliang from the May in the 15th years in Tianjian (515 BC) to the july in the following year (516 BC) dying from taking medicine, nearly sixteen months in total, (including the intercalary month). This book is divided into four volumes, in addition to commitment of the mood when Zhou Ziliang received the officer from Baoming Palace(保命府)and going to work, and also a lot of persuasion from many officers, a mystical things "to confer" record. This work well and truly reflected Chinese grammar features of The Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties, since it retains oral language at that time in very high degree. It is of great value in studying middle ancient Chinese.Although the works on the vocabulary and grammar of Records of Zhou Ziliang’s Dreams have A large number, but the research on its function words systematically has not yet visible. In this paper we based on exhaustive statistics of all the function words in the Records of Zhou Ziliang’s Dreams, according to the traditional classification of function words, form them into adverbs, conjunctions, prepositions, auxiliary four chapters and several small kinds, besides, discuss and analyse them from Parts of speech, usage, significance, function and examples, in order to fully present the characteristics of each member in function words system of Records of Zhou Ziliang’s Dreams, which will make a contribution to the study of middle ancient Chinese.This paper is divided into five chapters. First, we have a short introduction about its origin, content, edition, value of corpus, current study situations, significance and method of study; From chapter two to chapter five, we we respectively introduces the adverb, preposition, conjunction, and auxiliary in turn, describing the usage and comparing the similarities and differences with other function words, finally concluding each type of word’s function and grammatical features. A summary is presented at chapter six.
