This is a translation project report on the paper “Corporate Environmental Strategies in Emerging Economies” which was published in 2014. The paper mainly discusses corporate environmental strategies in emerging economies, analyzes the drivers of developing economies and transitional economies from the aspect of firms’ internal resources and capabilities, input and output market pressures, government pressure, and civil society pressure respectively. It also investigates the special case of China, which can guide the corporate leaders and help Chinese policy-makers understand the situation and keep pace with the times.The paper is a professional thesis about environment and economy with a clear logic and structure. The skopos theory emphasizes that the most important factor during translating is the purpose. The purpose of this report is to translate the paper correctly and to provide reference for related people. Based on the features of the paper and the purpose, the translator mainly adopted these strategies such as splitting and conversion.The main contents of this report are divided into four parts: Part One is the translation project description, including project background, objectives and significance. Part Two is the background of the source text, including the author introduction, main contents of the source text and linguistic features of the source text. Part Three is about translation difficulties and methods. Part Four concludes the report with the lessons, implications and unsolved problems.
