A Report On The English-chinese Translation Of Color Works(chapter Five And Chapter Six)

This report is based on the English-Chinese Translation of Color Works(Chapter 5and Chapter 6). The content of this translation project includes the meaning of color,color application, color selection and so on. Through the case analysis of the translation,this report mainly discusses how to deal with English-Chinese translation about colors and art on the guidance of Skopos theory. The theoretical basis of this report is Skopos theory. Through comparative analysis between original translation and revised translation, the author wants to find the features of English-Chinese translation and the difficulties during the translation of this project. Then according to the revised translation, the author would like to find the essence of translation and feasible solutions.The contents of this report includes five parts: firstly, preface; secondly, a brief introduction about the translation task; thirdly, preparation before translation, including analysis before translation, text analysis and the arrangement of translation process;forthly, the case analysis under the guidance of skopos theory, from vocabulary and sentence level to discuss the the key and difficult points of translation. Fifthly,conclusion. It includes a brief summary of this translation practice, problems and rethinking.The author hopes this practice can lay the foundation for her to translate the similar kinds of text, provide reference for English-Chinese translation about colors and art, as well as improve professional translator’s competence and professional quality.
