Teaching English as a second language has a long history.The relevant achievements of its teaching materiel are various and outstanding.Many Chinese writers can learn from the classic English teaching materials.As an important kind of education resource,textbook illustrations is being focused on more and more attention by researchers. The study of illustrations can provide reference and inspiration for the editors of textbooks..This paper tries to do certain theoretical analysis for the choreography for primary Chinese textbooks,and then select the relatively representative primary Chinese textbooks and classic English teaching materials for the comparative study of different style. On the basis of investigation and comparison of the teaching materials,I provided some suggestions in the field of illustrations configuration for primary Chinese textbooks,which were put forward from three aspects:the text, comments, and practice.Based on the theory of image, this paper discusses the question of graphic relation.Based on the homogeneous relationship between images and text, learners to communicate and accept information through the strengthening of the form and the semantic dual system,and make the knowledge information in understanding and memory consolidation.The study of knowledge acquisition process is consistent with the study of the dual coding theory and cognitive psychology in the field of study. "Map reading age", on the other hand,strengthens the importance of illustration to enhance the market competitiveness for books.When compared to the teaching material analysis,I summarized the similarity between the two sets of teaching materials in style. Reference illustrations in the distribution proportion of each style, this article tried to summarize every part into three parts:the text, notes and exercises, thus make illustrations contrast more maneuverability. This article title of each section is named according to the prominent differences in two sets of textbooks illustrations. The illustrations of text part were analyzed from four aspects:graphic relation, map, location and tinted.Through comparison and analysis,I found that the "Chinese textbook" annotation part illustrations is focused on grammar, and Family Album USA is focused on the noun.Illustrations in design is a combination of mark symbols, highlight the comment object. Illustrations in the part of practice, "Chinese textbook" represents a feature of "concentration" but few.Illustrations of Family Album USA are diversity, and more attractive to the learner.By fission example of comparative analysis, I discovered the deficiency existing in the Chinese and English textbooks, and also put forward some advice.The fission example were summarized as follows:The text part——Correct understanding of the role of the image, properly applied to the design of teaching material, Illustration design according to the characteristics of the students; Increase the cultural content of illustrations to promote the learning of language knowledge;Reasonable selection and choreography textbook illustrations.The comment section——Fade out consciousness of part of speech, based on the meaning, flexible compilation illustrations; Simplified design form, emphasize on the main point of interpretation; Use the symbol, highlight the definition object; Enhance the annotation illustration is practical and interesting.Practice——Not stick to one pattern with illustrations, multiple optimization Settings; Realize the diversification of the same topic design design;Reasonable application of the text part illustrations decorate exercises;Emphasize the importance of communicative principles for the exercises.
