As a special group in China, secondary vocational school students undertake severe stress from physiological changes and employment without positive acceptance in the society. They have more mental problems than other teenagers with low level of mental health. With development of vocational education, students get much more attention now. As one of positive personalities to improve mental health, self-compassion has positive correlation between life satisfaction, social connection, EQ, happiness, optimism, intelligence, initiative, curiosity, exploration and sense of coherence, and has negative relation between depression, anxiety, emotional exhaustion, shame and fear of failure (Neff,2003b; Neff, Rude, Kirkpatrick,2007; Barnard, Curry,2012; Ying, 2009).Self-compassion is a good method to improve students’mental health level, so it is necessary to study self-compassion of students.Self-compassion, derived from the concept-"compassion", it helps one treat self with kind, which can extend to all others. Self-compassion is good to not only healthy relationship but also moral education. Altruistic behavior is a good way of moral education. Researchers found that helping people can enhance self-compassion and self-compassion can predict altruistic behavior (Breines, Chen,2013; Zhang,2013). There are two mechanism-implicit and explicit in altruistic behavior. Implicit attitude impacts explicit behavior. It is of importance to study the relation between self-compassion and explicit and implicit altruistic behavior.Based on the internal and external document literature, the paper at first looks into the characteristics of self-compassion in the secondary vocational school students by questionnaires, and then studies the relationship between explicit altruistic behavior and self-compassion according to previous data. The paper also inquires into the relation between implicit altruistic behavior and different levels of self-compassion. At last, the paper studies the impact of self-compassion on implicit altruistic behavior. The results as follow:(1) The secondary vocational school students behaved well in the self-compassion questionnaire. Their self-compassion level was above average according to the research, and the level varied not much in gender, grade, family location, family structure and whether they were only child except roles in class. The overall level of class cadres was significant higher than that of non-class cadres. These factors varied much in dimensionality of self-compassion except grade and whether they are only child. In gender, the over-identification in girls obvious suffers more than boys. Students from one-child family were superior to those who have brothers and sisters in self-kindness, common humanity and mindfulness. In family location, students from rural areas suffered more than those from towns in over-identification. In family structure, common humanity in students from remarried families scored the highest.(2) Self-compassion level of the secondary vocational students was highly related to explicit altruistic behavior level on the 0.01 level. The higher explicit altruistic behavior level was, the higher self-compassion level was. Explicit altruistic behavior had a significant positive association with self-kindness, common humanity and mindfulness, but it had a significant negative association with self-judgement.(3) The self-compassion level of the secondary vocational students could effectively predict their explicit altruistic behavior level, and mindfulness acted as a positive predictor while self-judgement as negative.(4) The implicit altruistic tendency was found in secondary vocational students. Self-compassion had a positive relation with implicit altruistic tendency. Students with high self-compassion level have more implicit altruistic tendency than those with low self-compassion level.(5) Writing-task is a proper way to induce self-compassion in the lab. High level of self-compassion students are more inclined to make altruistic behavior.
