In the 21 st century, learner autonomy is the basic ability to influence human survival and development. With the progress of technology of network information, the Internet creates a good environment due to its unique advantages of resource sharing, interactivity and multimedia for the application of constructivism in English autonomous learning.English is a practical course. The modern English teaching need to not only maintain and develop the traditional teaching advantages, but also use the media and network resources efficiently under the condition of modern education technology, thus ensuring the English learner is active and has full opportunities to practice. With the popularity of the Internet and the development of MOOC, more and more English learners begin online autonomous learning. Now English online learning platform has become an indispensable tool for autonomous learning and daily English teaching. The role of the network has changed from teaching aids to teaching platform with the connection of the Internet and campus network,thus online learning becomes a new way of learning by implementing interactions of English teaching and studying under the network environment.Constructivism emphasizes the learner-centered and giving full play to the motility of autonomous learning, but it doesn’t ignore the teacher’s guidance, organization and help to learners in the learning process. Full application of the Internet creates an ideal constructivism learning environment, and the combination of the two will promote the learners’ cognitive development effectively.First of all, under the guidance of constructivism, this paper built an O2 O Higher Vocational English Teaching Platform based on the MOOC with the focus on learning database construction for the non-English major students in higher vocational colleges.Secondly, combining with the Higher Vocational English O2 O Platform and Flipped Class Model, this paper built a Higher Vocational English Teaching Model and verified the validity and feasibility of it. The platform was divided into three roles including learners,teachers, and mentors from the angle of the user, which focused on study and onlineautonomous learning function. According to the function of the system, the platform could be divided into five systems such as Independent Learning System, Resource Management System, Teaching Management System, Evaluation Feedback System and Certification System, etc.. All autonomous learning content in the platform could be reflected in the form of task, greatly improved the learners’ enthusiasm for autonomous learning.Finally, this paper applied O2 O Teaching Model for the teaching experiment. The study performed practically in nursing students of a higher vocational college in Fujian. It contrasted and analyzed the different teaching effect between O2 O Higher Vocational English Teaching Model based on MOOC and 3P English Teaching Model. The experimental results showed that there was a significant difference between the scores of experimental class and control class, which proved the validity and feasibility of O2 O Teaching Model, and O2 O Teaching Model would help to enhance the students’ learning enthusiasm and improve their English practical ability if it is applied in English teaching properly.
