In recent years,the teaching model of flipped classroom has been widely recognized and applied in the educational field,and the application of the teaching model is mainly due to the rapid development of scientific and information technology,via the Internet and resources,revolutionizing the traditional teaching model,methods and processes.As a new teaching mode that overturns traditional classroom dominated by a teacher,flipped classroom reverses the traditional teaching procedure by the way of pre-learning and post-teaching.The application of flipped classroom in English teaching of higher vocational colleges has brought great challenges for the students and teachers,which has also played a major role in promoting the level of English teaching in higher vocational colleges.The objective of this study is on how to reform English teaching by flipping the classroom.At first,the author suggests how to build up flipped classroom teaching model of higher vocational colleges by analyzing the present situation of English teaching in higher vocational colleges.Furthermore,the author conducts the study to see the real effectiveness of flipped classroom by applying it in higher vocational college English teaching so as to find out the problems and shortcomings and make the conclusion,in which some higher vocational college students and the specific unit of the course book have been selected as the target and the teaching content respectively.Although there are some problems existing in the study,flipped classroom has its advantages and is worth applying in higher vocational colleges.
