With the development of the times, the local foreign language training institutions grow rapidly. Private foreign language training institutions have introduced the advanced teaching ideas from developed countries and regions, adopted different teaching modes which were different from the traditional teaching methods in public schools, designed curriculum flexibly and made use of teaching materials of international education. Thus the training institutions become powerful supplement of public education. Paying attention to "High Score, High Ability", private training institutions have been focusing on cultivating the students’ ability of passing examination and improving their comprehensive quality. It not only conforms to the current system of education in our country, but also accords with the development of the time. As the training market competition has been intensified, private training institutions need to introduce advanced teaching means to create new teaching patterns. Interactive electronic whiteboards have become one of the best choices as auxiliary teaching technology of the training schools in teaching innovation. It not only improves the students’ enthusiasm to participate in class and realizes student-centered teaching design, but also saves and records all the teaching process since using the whiteboard can help teachers carry on the teaching reflection and help students review the lesson. By using the rich repository of the whiteboard, the teachers create real situations, build good relationships with students and make the teaching forms diversified in private training schools. But the interactive classroom teaching research based on the interactive whiteboard remains to be further explored, developed and modified.The purpose of this study is to determine the effects of the interactive whiteboard as an instructional method on student achievement as demonstrated by a level of significance between post-test scores. The results from the data will be used to determine if use of interactive whiteboards improves achievement on English curricula as measured by teacher-generated assessments when compared to traditional classroom instruction.The author did a research on English classroom interaction in private training schools. First of all, on the basis of the literature at home and abroad, an application research on introducing the interactive whiteboard to the private training school classrooms was done; Then, a teaching instance based on the application research of interactive whiteboard was designed; Next, according to the result of student’s academic performance test, the result showed that using electronic whiteboard as auxiliary teaching model can effectively improve students’ ability in listening, speaking and writing; Finally it concluded that the interactive whiteboard made English teaching and learning more flexibility in the classroom, increasing the students’classroom participation and improving the students’ interest in learning according to the results of questionnaires to the students and the interview to the teacher.This paper consists of the following parts:The first chapter presents the literature review of the studies about interactive whiteboard at home and abroad and the essence of the interactive teaching methods; The second chapter introduces the theoretical framework of this study; The third chapter presents the applied research and empirical research of interactive whiteboard in English classrooms in private training schools; The fourth chapter shows the results of the pre and post test, the student survey and the teacher interview; Chapter five summarizes the study and points out the innovation, application prospects and limitations of this research.
