As economy continues to develop, the stress is ubiquitous in all aspects of life. Today, working stress has become the problem concerned by nearly all organizations and individuals, as well as the research area received continuous attention. Above all, because oil workers are under special working environment, their pressure should be paid special attention by the society and the public.Based on literature review, this study clarifies the overall design thought of research on oil workers’ stress, puts forward a hypothetical model for the work stressors of offshore workers, and then analyzes and sorts out effective problems. After reliability and validity verification, "Working Stress Scale of China Offshore Oil Workers" is compiled. In addition, the measurement on 310 oil workers aims to explore the stress status of China’s offshore oil workers and its relation with job burnout. SPSS17.0 is employed to make descriptive statistics analysis of recovered data, difference test and regression analysis. The main conclusions are as follows:1. The work stress of China offshore oil workers primarily comes from seven aspects including the family-work conflict, interpersonal relationship, physical environment, living in the environment, working security, working isolation and working system;2. Married workers score significantly higher than unmarried ones in terms of work-family conflict;3. Workers with different years of working experience show obviously different scores in the item of pressure caused by physical environment and working isolation, characterized by the working pressure of workers with 2 years and more than 10 years of seafaring from the physical environment is significantly lower than those with 2-10 years of service, while workers with less than 2 years at sea score significantly lower than those with more than 2 years of experience in terms of pressure from working isolation;4. Workers with different education background demonstrate obvious difference in scores in the pressure caused by living environment, working isolation and working security, presenting as workers with junior and senior high school certifications suffer from more pressure than those with university degrees in terms of living environment, working isolation and working security;5. Offshore oil workers’ work stress is remarkably correlative with job burnout;6. The score of offshore oil workers’ education background negatively predicts emotional exhaustion notably, while working system, work-family conflict and working isolation show a positive relation with emotional exhaustion;7. Offshore oil workers’ education background negatively predicts the score in depersonalization, while working system and living environment positively predicts the score in depersonalization;8. Offshore oil workers with high score in marital status, work-family conflict and physical environment significantly predict low score in the sense of achievement.
