The Interrelated Expressions Of Pipaji

Based on the status of each connected component,we dividedthe total101interrelated expressions of Pipa ji into two categories.Theywere coordinative and subordinative interrelated expression.Coordinativeinterrelated expression contains parallel interrelated expression, continueinterrelated expression,progressive interrelated expression and alternativeinterrelated expression. While subordinative interrelated expression wasalso divided into four parts,which altogether includes56cases.The fourparts were causes and effects interrelated expression,assumptionsinterrelated expression, condition interrelated expression,transitioninterrelated expression. We carried on detailed description of each type ofinterrelated expression, and analyzed their frequency,usage and relatedfunctions.For these different members of the same word meaning andusage in the interrelated expression system,we also implementedcomparative study to explore the motions and mechanisms which causetheir grammaticalization.There are30monosyllabic cases,61disyllabic cases,3three-syllable cases,7interrelated formats, accounting for29.7%、60.4%, 6.94%,2.96%of the total cases. Most of these interrelated expressionsare inherited from ancient and middle Chinese, and also some are newlygenerated since the period of early modern Chinese,which reflects thecharacteristics of relatively stable and constant changing. Among them,the number of disyllabic interrelated expression takes the predominance,which coincides with the development trend of the dual-tone of Chinesevocabulary. We analyzed and summarized the forming ways of thedisyllabic interrelated expression, they are synonymous wordsformation,re-analysis,additional suffix,phrases solidification,contextualinfluence.Furthermore, we hypothesized that “yibixiang” first appearedin Yuan dynasty,when“yibi”and “yixiang”grammerlized into interrelatedadverb,in the influence of semantic accumulation and integration of wordform,“yibixiang”gradually came into being a three-syllable parallelinterrelated expression.The interrelated expressions in Pipaji,in addition to be usedindependently to connect other components, can also be used jointly withother interrelated expressions.Such as, conjunctions combined withconjunctions,two correlative adverbs appeared together,conjunctions orcorrelative adverbs in conjunction with the associated particle, etc.
