Research on procrastination is emerging in the recent30years, findings from empirical studies have focused on personality, emotional, cognitive aspects of procrastination among postgraduate and undergraduate students. This study aims to explore the relations between self-efficacy, time management, and procrastination among vocational students, and to verify the mediating role of time management underlying the relationship underlying self-efficacy and procrastination. A total of596vocational students were asked to complete a questionnaire package including Time Management Disposition Scale (TMD), General Self-efficacy Scale (GSES), and General Procrastination Scale (GPS). Results indicated that there were significant sex difference on procrastination, with males displaying much higher procrastination than females.(2)There were significant grade differences on procrastination, with freshman and junior students showing lower procrastination than sophomore students.(3)There were significant difference in procrastination between students from urban and rural areas, in which students from urban areas displayed much higher than those from rural areas.(4)There were significant sex difference on self-efficacy, where males had higher self-efficacy than females.(5)There were significant grade differences in time management. Freshman and junior students’ time management were better than that among sophomore students.(6)There were significant differences in sense of time efficacy and sense of time control, where students from urban areas were much better than those from rural areas.(7)There was a significantly positive correlation of time management disposition in all dimensions with self-efficacy, a significantly negative correlation between time management disposition, and a significantly negative correlation between self-efficacy and procrastination.(8)Self-efficacy can significantly predict procrastination, time management can significantly predict procrastination. Time management has full mediation effect the relationship between self-efficacy and procrastination. The study have great implication for helping vocational students to deal with procrastination.
