An Analysis Of Simultaneous Interpreting From The Perspective Of Interpretive Theory

In recent years, with the rapid development of society, simultaneous interpretation has been widely used in various fields including foreign affairs, business negotiations, television broadcasting,etc. An increasing number of interpretation trainees are attracted to simultaneous interpretation. As the demand for SI increases, the demand for its quality goes up. For now, it is not rare to see domestic SI researches. But mostly the corpus people studied comes from experienced SI interpreters instead of green hands.This thesis takes the form of a report which describes and analyzes the writer’s SI practice. Based on the interpretive theory, by listing some problems in the SI practice and researching the interpretation, the writer comes up with some strategies that can be applied in SI such as information equivalence, reasonable omitting and prediction. In addition, the writer also spells the importance of targeted preparations before real work by analyzing the field practice from the perspective of interpretive theory. The problem of how to deal with the problems in emergency situation for green hands in field practice of SI is also explained in this thesis.This thesis aims to help SI learners know more about the mistakes in field practice and how to deal with relative problems by using SI strategies. This report of the writer’s first SI field practice is hoped to bring some inspirations for SI learners and contribute the writer’s bite of effort to the research of simultaneous interpretation.
