| This paper takes Zhang Da-fu’s essays as the subject, consisting of six parts as follows.The introduction part expounds some causes about the subject, the research actuality aboutZhang Da-fu, and also the methods, aims and meanings of this thesis.The first chapter is a brief conclusion about Zhang Da-fu’s family background, his life andliterary conceptions.The next part is the literature research about Zhang Da-fu’s essays_《Wenyan Zhai》and《Meihua Caotang》.Firstly,《Wenyan Zhai》 includes six volumes, and was published at1605.《Meihua Caotang》 has fourteen volumes, it’s first edition was published at1630, butthen some was lost in the war, which happened in the late period of Ming Dynasty. And latersome people repaired it at1655. Secondly,《ErTan》,which was recorded in《SiKu QuanShuZongMu TiYao》,was not《Wenyan Zhai》,but some repetitions in Zhang Da-fu’s essays.And then the third chapter introduces the contents of Zhang Da-fu’s essays. The authorrecorded some historical notes, vivid characters around him, knowledge of tea ceremony, thefolk customs in Su Zhou, anecdotes of that time, and also some epigrams, mottoes. Thesubject matters of Zhang Da-fu’s essays has great common ground with the traditional notesand the essays which were wrote in the late time of Ming Dynasty, and at the same time itwiden the range of the traditional themes, combined notes and essays perfectly.The forth part is about the literary creation of Zhang Da-fu’s essays. On the one hand, hebelieves in that writing should express the true feelings from people’s soul, and should writethe true nature of the objects. Affected by this view, the figures are vivid and their forms arerespectively different in his essays, sometimes his language is poetical, and sometimes funny.On the other hand, there are some similarities between Su-Shi’s《Zhi Lin》and Zhang Da-fu’sessays, among their styles, subject matters, and art features. And then the last but not the least,Zhang Da-fu’s essays and Basho Matsuo’s haiku share a lot in common among their art styleto a certain degree. Zhang Da-fu and Basho Matsuo both like write nature, in their eyes, thenature is quiet, slender, and beautiful. The last part is a short summary about the thesis. |
