Chronic hepatitis b (CHB) is caused by hepatitis b virus (HBV).Depression is a commonemotional state among our patients. patients with Different coping styles experience different levelsof depression, this research mainly reveals how CHB patients’s coping style affects their depressionlevel.This research includes three parts:Interview has been conducted to CHB patients, using qualitative analysis to decode the data inorder to explore their emotions and how their coping styles have affected their depression level.Using questionnaires to investigate CHB patients’s depression level and coping style,after that therelationship among resilience,coping style and depression level has been discussed.The final results found that:(1) the CHB patients experienced more negative emotions, using cognitive adjustment, avoidrejection and behavioral change, these three coping styles can have impact on their negativeemotions.(2) The depression standard scores of the CHB patients was significantly high above thenorm, significant difference was found in gender and severity of illness but not in education degree,specifically as the overall education degree grew the depression level fell.(3)There were nosignificant difference of coping style between gender, but significant difference among educationdegree and severity of illness.(4) There was significant difference between gender and severity ofillness, but significant difference among education degree.(5)Coping styles,resilience anddepression of CHB patients had an extremely significant correlation, and resilience worked as anmediation between coping style and depression.
