"de"-complement phrases in Beijing dialect in middle Qing Dynasty and early Republic of ChinaThis thesis discusses the development of "de"-complement phrases in Beijing dialect from middle Qing Dynasty to early Republic of China, by analying five novels, such as in the Dream of the Red Chamber, the tale of herotic sons and daugthters, Yu-yen Tzu-erh Chi, the murder case of Chun and the Mr.zhang’s philosophy. This thesis analyzes the functions of syntax of the "de"-complement strutures and the comlements’s semantic connections with other sentential componnents.Consisting of perface, result complement, state complement, tend complement, extent complement possible complement and conclusion, this thesis has eight parts.The Perface. The introduction part aims at discussing the significance of the thesis, the results of previous studies, research contents and research methods.Chaptert one:The predicate.The predicates divide into four forms:monosyllabic adjectives, double syllable adjectives, monosyllabic verb and disyllabic verb.The second chapter to the sixth chapter, discuss result complement, state complement, tend complement, extent complement possible complement, according to the different complement types of syntactic structure classification, some preliminary description and explanation.
