| The distinctive Beijing dialect vocabulary of the late Qing and early Republic of China is a representative vocabulary with the characteristics of the era and the region that was produced in the Beijing society and distinguished from the periods before and later.Based on the book "A Collection of Lexical Annotation of Beijing Dialects in the Late Qing and Early Republic of China",this paper defines,screens,sorts,describes and analyzes the distinctive vocabulary of Beijing dialect in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China.The method of combining quantitative statistics and qualitative analysis is used to comprehensively investigate the basic overview and vocabulary characteristics of the distinctive vocabulary.The method of combining description and explanation is used to describe the categories,structural characteristics,and word-forming methods of the distinctive vocabulary.Based on the results of the investigation,the relevant appendix of the distinctive vocabulary is generated,which may be helpful for the compilation and revision of the subsequent Beijing dialect dictionary in the late Qing and early Republic of China.The first chapter of this paper defines the concept of "distinctive vocabulary" and explains how to select and process distinctive vocabulary.At the same time,the distinctive vocabulary is classified,with "word" and "phrase" as the first level of classification,"function word" and "notional word" as the second level of classification of "word",and then classified and described in each category of words in "function word","notional word" and "phrase".Chapter 2 discusses that the sources of distinctive vocabulary are new words and inheritance words,which are the main sources of distinctive vocabulary in large numbers,and inheritance words are mainly appellations and official names inherited from ancient Chinese and Manchu,and the number of such vocabulary is relatively small.Then,the semantic features of distinctive vocabulary are described,and the word meaning of distinctive vocabulary has the characteristics of objectivity,subjectivity,historic,nationality,contemporaneity and regionalism,and the meaning of phrases in distinctive vocabulary has the characteristics of singleness,contemporaneity and regionalism,which affect the expression of word meaning from the word creation itself,and also reflect the relationship between the vocabulary system and social culture of Beijing dialect in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China.Chapter 3 analyzes the structure form,and word-making rules of distinctive vocabulary of Beijing dialect in the late Qing and early Republic of China.The number of compound words in the distinctive vocabulary accounts for the majority,mainly compound and additional forms,supplemented by overlapping forms.The main methods for creating new words in distinctive vocabulary include the method of arbitrary combination of sound and meaning,the method of explanation,the method of double tone,and the method of analogy. |
