The Research On Teaching Chinese Oral Based On VCE

With the continuous development ofTCFL (Teaching Chinese As ForeignLanguage)and relentless support of NOCFL (China National Office for TeachingChinese as a Foreign Language), TCFL is gradually taking off in Australia with agrowing number of primary and middle schools considering Chinese as an importantforeign language. There, VCE serves as a basis for college appliance, and is a test thatstudents, parents and teachers attach great significance to. As a volunteer, the authorhas experienced the TCFL class focused on VCE in Penleigh and Essendon GrammarSchool, and has also made a research and analysis on the Chinese class throughquestionnaire, class recording and practical teaching.There are five parts in thispaper. The first chapter makes a brief description onthe research idea and methods based on topic-selecting motivation and previousresearch outcomes. The second chapter is an investigation and analysis on the generalsituation of TCFL and students’ current learning process of Penleigh and EssendonGrammar School, and has made a summarization on the present problems by statisticsand comparison. The next chapter generalizes the concrete content of VCE and oralknowledge that students should master, and sums up common mistakes and problems.The following chapter puts forward assumptions and suggestions of TCFL on thebasis of its current situation. And the last chapter serves as a summary.By investigating the current condition of TCFL and summarizing oral teaching,the author has come up with some advice on the oral class of the school, hoping that itcan increase the students’ Chinese level and respond to VCE more efficiently. At the same time, the author also looks forward to providing valuable references for overseasTCFL career.
