With the increasingly severe employment situation of collegegraduates in recent years, employment-related psychological traits hasbecome a research hotspot.Career decision-making self-efficacy is animportant psychological trait which affects employment of universitystudents. Career decision-making self-efficacy is affected by manyfactors.Among.them,personal.factors.are.particularly.important.Attribution style and achievement motivation are all personalfactors.Previous studies have confirmed to some extent that attributionstyle and achievement motivation can affect career decision-makingself-efficacy,but they are not comprehensive and systematic ingeneral.And there have been no research which combines attribution stylewith achievement motivation to explore their effects on careerdecision-making self efficacy.Therefore, this study targets collegestudents as subjects to delve into the possible relationship among thethree varibles.This study aims at providing strong theory support forcareer decision-making self-efficacy and then carrying out theappropriate interventions to promote college student’s careerdecision-making self-efficacy and their employment.And also,this studytrys to provide references and new perspectives for future research.This study uses the Attributional Styles Questionnaire(ASQ)developedby Peterson&Seligman,the Achievement Motivation Scale(AMS) revised by YeRenmin and the Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy scale(CDMSE)revisedby Peng Yongxin&Long Lirong.The research subjects come from JilinUniversity,Minzu University of China,Hebei North University and BeijingUniversity of Technology,GengDan college.A total of450questionnaires were distributed and411valid questionnaires were received.The collecteddata were processed by using the method of descriptive statistics, t test,analysis of variance, correlation analysis and regression analysis.Thefollowing conclusions are drew:(1)In general,college students’career decision-makingself-efficacy are good.The average score is located in medium high.Thereare significant differences between male and female students on the careerdecision-making self-efficacy scores. It shows that boys’scores aresignificantly higher than the girls’.As to grade, major,onlychild&non-only child and origin of student,there are no significantdifferences fond on the career decision-making self-efficacy scores.(2)The positive attribution style of college students areperferable,while the negative attribution style of college students arenot that good.The overall attribution style is good.Scores on overallattribution style are significantly different among grades.The seniorstudents have the higest scores.As to gender,major,only child&non-onlychild and origin of student,there are no differences on overallattribution style.(3)College students’achievement motivation levels tend to fluctuatewidely.There are significant differences between male and female studentson the score of pursuing success motivation,while the avoiding failuremotivation and the overall achievement motivation scores of differentgender show no difference.There are significant differences among thefive grades on avoiding failure motivation,while the pursuing successmotivation and the overall achievement motivation scores of them don’thave significant differences.Achievement motivation levels in differentmajor,only child&non-only child and different origins of student have nosignificant differences.(4)There.are.remarkable.correlations.among.attribution style, achievement motivation and career decision-making self-efficacy.Attribution style has a remarkable positive correlation with careerdecision-making self-efficacy;Pursuing success motivation has aremarkable positive correlation with career decision-makingself-efficacy;Avoiding failure motivation has a remarkable negativecorrelation with career decision-making self-efficacy;Overallattribution style has a remarkable positive correlation with overallachievement motivation.(5)Both attribution style and achievement motivation can effectivelypredict career decision-making self-efficacy.The positive attributionstyle and the negative attribution style of overall attribution style havesignificant effects on career decision-making self-efficacy.Also,thepursuing success motivation and the avoiding failure motivation ofachievement(6)Achievement motivation acts as a partial mediator betweenattribution style and career decision-making self-efficacy.
