The Translation Of Attributive Clauses In Purchases And Sales Contracts

This is a translation report on attributive clauses. There are a great number of attributiveclauses in the legal texts translated by the author, especially in purchases and sales contracts,in which exist a wide range of attributive clauses that are complicated in structure. So it isimportant and difficult for us to translate English attributive clauses into Chinese. In thisreport, the author focuses on the translation skills of attributive clauses in purchases and salescontracts. Firstly, the author introduces the importance of attractive clauses in legaltranslations. And the author briefly analyzes the categories and features of attributive clauses,and summarizes some general translation skills. Then by using some examples in purchasesand sales contracts, the author detailedly discusses four translation skills： fronting,combination, conversion and division. Finally, the lessons learned in the process of translatingand other problems confronted by the author are dealt with.
