Research The Relation Among The Family Function, Psychological Sense Of Coherence And Self-esteem Of Higher Vocational College Students

Antonovsky first proposed the theory of Salutogenic Mode and the key concept ofpsychological sense of coherence in1979. Psychological sense of coherence means the steadypsychological tendency toward the overall feeling and cognition of the life in the individual.Men full of this tendency possess a deep, last and motivated self-confidence. Human paymore and more attention to psychological sense of coherence. This study adopts the measureof Chinese version of Soc-13in Antonovsky’s29psychological sense of coherence scalestranslated by Bao Leiping. This study also discusses the present situation of higher vocationalcollege students’ psychological sense of coherence and the interaction among the familyfunction, psychological sense of coherence and self-esteem. The study aims to structure therelation mode among the three aspects. The result of the research shows:1. The family function of higher vocational college students tends to be health status.Their psychological sense of coherence and self-esteem are in a middle condition.2. Grade difference: The score of the junior’s self-esteem is higher than the other twogrades.3. Region difference: The main effect of region difference is obvious in solving theproblems, communication, emotional involvement, total function and the total points offamily function. Urban students’ score of solving the problem of dimension is higher thanrural students’. The main effect of self-esteem is obvious too. Rural students’ score of self-esteem is higher than urban students’.4. Grade and region difference’s interaction is obvious in solving the problem ofdimension. Specific differences represent: The region difference is obvious in solving theproblems of dimension between the freshman and the junior. Urban students’ score is higherthan rural students’. Grade and region difference’s interaction is obvious in psychologicalsense of coherence. Specific differences represent: The region difference is obvious betweenthe freshman and the sophomore. Urban students are higher than rural students.5. Higher vocational college students have close relationship among the family function,psychological sense of coherence and self-esteem. There is a strong negative correlationbetween family function and psychological sense of coherence. There is a strong positivecorrelation between family function and self-esteem. There is a strong positive correlationbetween psychological sense of coherence and self-esteem. 6. Psychological sense of coherence plays a part of the intermediary role betweenfamily function and self-esteem.
