In the 1980s, the educated youth work from literature and movies to television screens, educated youth TV drama as a kind of cultural phenomenon has caused wide attention from all walks of life. However, so far, the academic study of educated youth TV drama is still in its infancy, mostly stay in a single narrative text and meaning of research. TV as a kind of comprehensive art of time and space, the function of the space is very important. But in television researches there are rarely involves the view of narrative point, even ignoring the position of the space in narrative. In fact, due to the elements of migration of social space and image space presents, the educated youth TV drama births to have the characteristics of spatial narrative. While the educated youth TV dramas that written by Ye Xin and Liang Xiaosheng are outstanding works.Therefore, this article from the perspective of spatial narrative, with Ye Xin and Liang Xiaosheng’s educated youth TV dramas’ narrative space as the research object, studies the problems of the educated youth TV drama’s space narrative, efforts to explore the narrative function and the construction mechanism of space narrative, and discusses the cultural phenomenon of these TV dramas’ spatial narrative.This paper is divided into three parts.The first part is the introduction. In order to make the research objects and principles clear, and make research methods right, it from the research background, the concept of educated youth TV drama and its evolution history, the concept of spatial narrative theory, research status, research methods, research significance these five aspects for a roughly introduced.The second part is the main body of this paper, it is from the first chapter to the third chapter.The first chapter is the narrative function of narrative space in the educated youth TV drama, which explores the narrative space’s important role of the advance of the plot, narrative structure’s framework and shaping the characters in the educated youth TV drama through some concrete examples. The educated youth’s choice between urban and rural space and some specific scene space produce a promoting role in plot, space makes round and multi view these two kinds of structure in the educated youth TV drama, The scene space and lens space play an important role in shaping the characters.The second chapter is construction mechanism of space narrative mechanism in educated youth TV drama, which discuss the construction mechanism of their spatial narrative through the concrete analysis comparison of Ye Xin and Liang Xiaosheng’s educated youth TV dramas. It respectively proves from urban and rural space’s polymerization, juxtaposition and metaphor these three aspects.The third chapter is the culture interpretation of educated youth TV drama’s space of narrative, it is mainly from two aspects in space narrative:the conflict between politics and human nature and the other conflict between economy and human nature to parse the youths’ thought and existence in the urban and rural areas in different periods, and analyzed characteristics and development trend of the educated youth TV drama under the background of new age.The third part is the conclusion, it summarizes the point of full text, and according to the aesthetic needs of the audience group in the new media era it makes a prospect for the development of the educated youth drama. Put forward to using the space narrative thinking to create, and implant historical reflection in space form.
