The road movie started in the United States in the 1960 s and was introduced to China in the early 21 th century.In 2001,All the way began the first attempt to make a domestic road movie.Box office lost due to imperfect narrative level and lack of experience.Over the next decade or so,after continuous localization attempts and transformations,the road movie was combined with Chinese characteristics,and many works with excellent reputation and box office were born.The development has so far become a decisive type in Chinese commercial films,and has been favored by audiences and courtyard line.As a barometer of society,domestic road movies also show the nostalgia of the times and the humanistic care of the present reality.Based on the genre elements of European and American road movies,domestic road movies have formed three narrative types: road comedy represented by jiong series,anti-type absurd road allegory,and documentary literary road film.Domestic road movies have distinctive localized narrative characteristics,mainly expressed as localized narrative themes such as running away and seeking,lost and returning,revenge and redemption,and localized characters such as migrant workers,lost urban middle class,lost urban youth,etc.And the localization of the physical and social narrative space of road movies.Domestic road movies still have problems such as homogenization,modelization,entertainment,lack of development stamina and separation from the context of the times.They should be optimized from three aspects: based on local culture,establishment of type consciousness,and intensive development of the era.
