Practice Report On The Consecutive Interpreting Of Sino-African Urban Planning & Construction Seminar

This practice report is based on my interpreting of the Sino-African Urban Planning and Construction Seminar in Langfang of Hebei Province. At the seminar, the spokesman of Langfang City Land Development Construction &Investment Co., Ltd made the introduction for their company, I made the Chinese-English consecutive interpretation for her speech.This thesis consists of five chapters: task description, procedure description, interpretation preparation, case analyses and summary. Task description includes the introduction of the task background and nature. Procedure description introduces the procedure of the task from pre-interpreting, interpreting process and post-interpreting perspectives. Interpretation preparation gives a detailed description of all the preparations I made from three perspectives.Case analysis is the most important part in this thesis. In this chapter, several important issues during the interpreting process is analyzed, aiming to find out what kind of ability is needed to deal with this kind of interpreting task. The summary focuses on the experience of the interpretation practice, which will be useful as a resource for my future interpretation.
