With the development of globalization, China has made great economic development. Its contact with the world in various aspects has become increasingly closer. In China, many official organizations and foreign governments or institutions have established cooperative relationship. In their communication process, the translation of official documents plays an important role. This paper is based on Vermeer’s Skopos theory. It discusses the difficulties encountered in the translation of official documents and their possible solutions at lexical level and syntactic level. It is hoped to obtain comprehensive and systematic translation methods and strategies through analyzing and summarizing the experiences in the translation of official documents. The paper finds that in the translation of official documents, the translator has to respect the feelings of the reader and flexibly use different translation strategies. On the basis of respect for the original intent, the translator should make the translation more concise and understandable.
