"Literature On Searching For Roots" And "Field Of The Mid-1980s Chinese Literature"

As a literary trend, “literature on searching for roots” opens up a new creative pattern for the mid-1980 s Chinese literature. On the other hand, it interacts with “Culture Fever” in 1985 and introduces discourse mechanism aiming at national culture subjectivity with the tag of “culture”and “China” in the 1980 s. Therefore, it is of great value and research space to discuss from the dual perspective of literature and culture. However, previous literature mainly explores its cultural value and attempts to establish the relationship between literature on searching for roots and "Reconstruction of National Culture subjectivity", which becomes the classical interpretation of “literature on searching for roots”.This thesis aims to explore “literature on searching for roots” from the perspective of its generation process: the beginning, spreading and ending phase, regardless of the above classic interpretation. This thesis will probe into relations between discourse output and powers of“literature on searching for roots”, reasons why the above classic impression results and the impact of this impression.In this thesis, “literature on searching for roots” will be divided into four stages: The first stage,as shown in chapter 1, is called the preparation period: in Hangzhou conference, journals, young writers and the young critic form a "conspiracy" because of the same interests; the second stage,as in chapter 2, is called the declaration period, during which “literature on searching for roots”completes its theoretical construction through a series of roots-seeking proclamation. During this phase, writers of different schools hold different and diversified theories; the third stage, as in Chapter 3, is called the spreading phase, during which “literature on searching for roots” is widely spread due to joint influence of writers, critics and journals, a time "literature on searching for roots" has become a central hot topic in the literary world; the last phase is called the ending period. As shown in chapter4, “literature on searching for roots” doesn’t decline in a sudden, but gradually in the process of production and spread.
