When the audience appreciate a poster work, they may be attracted by the poster’s color or the structure of this poster; they may be needed to interact with the posters, and they are likely to be impressed by the contents and other works, these are all as known as the audience’s emotional response. The behaviors that design for the emotion are called emotional Design. Emotion is an important nexus between posters and the audience, and poster work can bring to the audience what kind of emotional response, and the two main aspects of emotional design that are what kinds of emotion the posters will bring to the audience’s and how to bring these emotions to them.This article discusses the design of the different components of emotional design. First, by studying the concepts of emotion to understand the characteristics of emotional experiences, and know how emotions affect the audience’s behaviors with different factors. Secondly, based on the previous study stage, connect the different emotional experience with poster works. Through those case studies to analyze how the emotional design is used in the creation of posters. Finally, summarize a series of emotional design principles for poster design.
