Study On The Hollowing Of Traditional Villages In Hunan Province

Rural hollowing is a recent social phenomenon with the difference of urban and rural development. More and more people are moving from rural china into urban areas, leading to many problems in rural,for example rural resident population reduction 、houses abandon and disappearance of traditional culture and so on.In the wider world, the population of developed countries already completed the transfer process from rural to urban,In contrast,China’s urbanization rate breakthrough50% in 2011.According to the developed countries,China is in a high-speed development stage of urbanization,meaning that there will be ten million population transfer from rural to urban areas every year,and exacerbating the problem of rural hollowing.For traditional villages,people need pay more attention to such issues in future.Researching the traditional village hollowing will be beneficial for us and government to protect traditional villages.This paper is based on the declaration data of Chinese traditional village and the questionnaire of traditional village of Hunan Province,which research situation, causes, effects and Countermeasures of traditional village hollowing for two major areas: population and village space.this paper will combine the macroscopic analysis method with Microscopic analysis method,and The theoretical analysis method with empirical analysis method.The results are as follows:(1)There are some different degree problems of traditional villages hollowing in Hunan province,closely related to the village economic development degree, specifically natural conditions, tourism development and village economic structure.(2)The hollowing of traditional village will lead to population reduction、demographic structure change, house abandon, disappearanceof traditional culture and so on.(3)Based on understanding of the special characteristics of hollow phenomenon and traditional village,we could make some measures for the development of villages from two angles,population hollowing and settlement hollowing.For the former,with the support of government,narrowing the regional and urban-rural gap is one of the most important measures,including equalization of basic public service,tourism development,that will improve the attractiveness of the local village to residents.For the latter, strengthening management of housing land,improving infrastructure and setting up special protection funds of traditional villages, will detente even solve the problems of village space form and historical buildings destruction,caused by rural hollowing.
