Pre-school education, as an important part of basic education, has a profoundinfluence over the growth of people. Advanced normal university is the cradle of preschool education professional talents cultivation, aiming at providing high-quality preschool educator for basic education and preschool education. However, the clay sculpture teaching of this major involves many problems, such as ignoring students’ knowledge structure and background, emphasizing the skill learning excessively and taking it as a skill course; failing to locate students cultivation and reveal the professional characteristics; lacking objective teaching evaluation; failing to pay enough attention to the clay sculpture teaching and ignore its great influence on preschool education and art quality education.This thesis first defines relevant concepts about the clay sculpture education and analyzes its commonness with children art; explores the problems in current clay sculpture teaching and points out that it is necessary to change the current situation. Next, it concludes the principle for art study based on traditional teaching principles and analyzes how to carry out the corresponding clay sculpture teaching; it defines the training objective of preschool education and on this basis adjust the learning content; it increases the viewing angle ofevaluation methods, diversifies evaluation subject and lays emphasis on students’ experience in their study process. Finally, it applies these ideas to practical teaching and conducts an analysis based on teaching case and specific works.This thesis takes the observational method and behavioral method as the principal means, interviewing method and questionnaire method as a supplement to observe and summarize students’ knowledge acquisition and ability improvement in study. It is designed to conduct art quality formative education when students acquire knowledge on claysculpture and related skills, deliver the spirit and joy of clay sculpture art so as to gain the more effective teaching mode and exert positive influence over the development of sculpture art and students study.
