In China, translation of foreign publicity documents is of more importance than any time in history due to its widespread world’s attention nowadays. The government’s public service document is a style for the government of People’s Republic of China to perform its public service functions which represents the coreidea of public administration and government reform. It relates closely to the Chinese political, economic, cultural and other aspects of life. It is also one of the most crucial and authoritative sources for the world to know better the Chinese situation and propaganda. Translation of foreign publicity documents is a cross-linguistic and multi-cultural communication and exchange activity that aims to serve as a medium and carrier for the outside world to know our propaganda and policies and is closely related to the Chinese daily work and life. The author took an internship in a Sino-foreign culture exchange company and participated in the introduction of Chinese and foreign cultural exchanges and personnel and therefore understood that the translation of foreign publicity documents and the government public service style plays a very important role in enriching readers’knowledge reserve and it is beneficial for the improvement of communicating efficiency during work of foreign cultural exchanges and personnel introduction.This article sets out to analyze the task description and strategies for translation of government’s public service documents. The source texts are the public service documents and administrative program fromForeign Experts Bureau aiming to find out the characteristics of the source language and overcome difficulties in translating due to the Sino-foreign cultural differences and different ways of thinking and expression. In this article, the author brings forward various translation skills to deal with difficulties and applies flexibly the use of multiple skills, i.e., specific expression, combined translation and divided translation, sentence reconstruction etc in order to complete the translating mission for government public service documents. The author also lists out the translation recognition and experience for the translation practices in the future work.
