A Practice Report On Sentence Reconstruction In English Translation Of Chinese Economic Text

Economic translation is a cross-cultural communicative activity, which is that the essence is the conversion of two symbol systems. To read some English versions of Chinese economic discourses, some versions of domestic economic texts are found that they are not accurate enough or appropriate. Their titles are not enough to attract readers, or the contents are too long. There is no the highlight key, and it does not conform to habits or requirements of Western readers. Sometimes, there are some mistranslation phenomena. Some foreign economic text translations are not objective enough, or there are some biases in some places. Therefore, I hope to find some good methods on it through the practice of Chinese economic discourse translation.According to characteristic of economic authenticity, timeliness, and accuracy, they are more suitable to adopt to the way of sentence reconstruction. It will make complex and long sentences simplified through the reconstruction, from long to short, complex to simple, which is more conducive to the transformation between languages and understandings. The purpose of reconstruction translation is to provide more effective and true information for readers of the target language society, and effort to make versions and original texts produce the same effect for target language readers as source language readers.This thesis chooses more than 10 thousand words in the book of the analysis and forecast of economic and social development in Liaoning province(2012) to translate. During the process of translation, I find that the sentence pattern is reiteration, the sentence is too long, and the logic is dim. There are not only subjects, but also other problems easily to occur in such translation, so as to find out the corresponding solutions, such as the use of sentence type adjust, merge, segmentation method, the use of subordinate clause and some special sentence pattern which can basically solve those problems. These translation methods and strategies are not only to other translators to learn from and reference, but also conducive to foreign readers to read more objective and comprehensive content on the change of Chinese economy.
