In the initial period of the anti-Japanese war, the national government enacted the wartime education policy that "wartime should be as usual" to preserve education power,stipulated the students in highter and middle schools can delay serve in the army.But in the later period of the War,the government launched the movement of educated young volunteers for the military service, in which the students in highter and middle schools,young civil servants and teachers were the main participants. The movement can be divided into two stages:the first phase was the movement of student volunteers for the military service from November 1943 ta December 1944, starting with the northeastern university student volunteer service in the army in santai, the students in highter and middle schools were the main participants in this stage. The second stage was one hundred thousand educated youth enlisting movement,took the "meeting for launch the educated youth serive in the army" in october 14,1944 as the official stating sign,this stage was a large-scale movement, including students, young teachers and civil servants, setted up nine divisions and two regiments, established the youth army.There were more than ten thousands of educated youth volunteers service in the army from all over the country in this movement.The government enacted related policy, set up specialized agencies to deal with relevant affairs in two stages of the movement,and training and distributing these educated youth. The main reason for the start of the movement of student volunteers for the military service was the China military need high-quality men to match the allied powers’ plan to counter-attack Japanses.But for the reasons of the change of the situation in the war, the contradiction between China and the United States became acute,there were many serious problems in kuomintang,training talents for founding in the post-war period and so on, Chang kai-shek expanded the movement to One Hundred Thousand Educated Youth Enlisting Movement at the end of 1944. In addition to the educated youth that unified training by the government, there were some educated youth served as interpreter in the army,went to the United States to accept Naval training,and some special professional students were requisitioned by government,all of these should be regard as party of the movement.Educated youth, especially the young educated women join the army,created a crprecedent in the history of military service in our country.The movement has a positive effect on changed the then general mood of society that put mental training above physical training, improved the quality of the army and the youth’s own development,it also contributed to the Anti-Japanese War’s final victory. Although shortly after the victory of Anti-Japanese War,the Youth army retired, only a small number of the educated youth really participated in the Anti-Japanese War, the huge impact of the movemet should not be ignored.This paper mainly using the data compiled by the government agency that was responsible for the movement and other relevant documents to study this movement. The full text is divided into five chapters,the main content of each chapter is as follows:The first chapter mainly analysis the background of the rise of the movement, including the national government’s education policy after the outbreak of the war,the government’s military strength after the outbreak of the war and so on.The second chapter mainly studies the movement of student volunteers for the military service between November 1943 and December 1944,including the reason for the government to promote the movement, relevant policies, training and distributing for the students who joined the army.The third chapter mainly studies the One Hundred Thousand Educated Youth Enlisting Movement,including the reasons for the expanding of the movement,the recruiting and training for the educated youth,the training for the cadres of the Youth Army, the training for political workers of the Youth Army and the Youth Army’s retire.The fourth chapter mainly studies the special form of the movement, including educated youth that served as interpreter in the army,went to the United States to accept Naval training,and some special professional students were requisitioned by government.The fifth capter mainly analysis the characteristicsand the influence of the movement.
