Eye tracking technology aims at helping researchers understand visual attention. With this technology, we can detect the point users are looking at, the duration for which they look at something, and the path their eyes follow along. This technology is mainly applied into commercial websites, social networking, video games, marketing and human-computer interaction, etc. The book Eye Tracking in User Experience Design covers both the art and the practice of eye tracking within the context of user experience (UX) research for improving user experience and informing development and marketing decisions. Due to the fact that a Chinese version is needed for Chinese readers, MTI Education Center of Qingdao University of Science and Technology was authorized by the Post & Telecom Press to translate this book. Being a member of the translation team, the author is responsible for translating the first and second chapters. In this report, the author takes this translation practice as a case study to describe the whole translation process, including a project analysis, preparations before translation, the translation process and post-editing. By utilizing the translation theory and skills I have learned and discussing the problems confronted in the translation process, this paper offers some methods to solve these problems with examples. Based on the practice, the author summarizes the experience and lessons in order to benefit the translation practice in the future.
