This article is an English-Chinese interpreting report. Seven national parks are selected from America’s 58 National Parks as materials. This report is the analysis and summary of the whole process of interpreting. The author makes full use of interpretive theory to guide interpreting practice and case analysis. The report explores the guidance of interpretive theory in documentary interpreting and sums up the problems during interpreting practice in order to direct future interpreting.This report consists of five main parts. Part One is the task description, introducing interpreting material and the significance of this interpreting practice. Part Two is the translation process, covering background knowledge, the glossary, trial interpreting and the process. Part Three introduces the overarching concepts of interpretive theory. Part Four analyzes some cases according to interpretive theory, and five interpretive strategies are used by the author. Part Five is the summary, summing up the problems in the practice. The author improves the interpreting ability and raises the consciousness of preserving the landscape according to this interpreting practice.
