This article investigates and analyzes 388 Chinese and Japanese homograph verbs from the primary teaching material Road to Success including Lower Elementary(2 volumes), Elementary(2 volumes) and Upper Elementary(2 volumes) published by Beijing language and culture university. The author analyze these words from morphology, word class, word meaning and pragmatic in detail. Through analyzing the Japanese student’s error sentences which caused by using homographs the author summarizes the phenomenon and reasons of this kind of errors and offers targeted suggestions to Chinese and Japanese teaching based on this analysis.There are five chapters in this article as follows:The first chapter is the introduction part which mainly introduces topic basis, research status, research methods. There are three parts in the research status including comparison analysis research of Chinese and Japanese homographs, analytical investigation of Chinese and Japanese homographs errors and Chinese and Japanese homographs research as teaching Chinese as a foreign language.The second chapter,first of all,the author define the Chinese and Japanese homographs detailed classify those words from glyph,pronunciation and meaning.From the word meaning those words are divided into three categories.The first category includes verbs which have almost same word forms and meanings.For example,研究/研究、练习/练习The second category include words which have the same word forms and similar meanings.For example,辅助/铺助.The third category includes the words which have the same word forms but different meanings.For example:试验/试験、约束/约束.Finally,the author makes the statistics of all kinds of homographs verbs percentage and analysis in Road to Success.The third chapter, the author classifies the disyllable homographs based on the above three categories and make comparative analysis from word forms, word meanings, word classes, word collocations and pragmatic aspects. The author emphasize the words which have the same word forms but different meanings and the words which have the same word forms but different meanings.The chapter four, through Beijing Language and Culture university HSK Dynamic Composition Corpus the author classifies the errors appeared in Japanese student’s composition into 5 categories. They are word form error, word class error, word collocation error, word meaning error and pragmatic error. At last, the author summarizes the cause of these errors.The chapter five point out the research meaning of this article that is to summarize some effective teaching methods and advices based on comparative analysis and error analysis and the teaching material Road to Success. In order to help Japanese students master the homographs better.
