This article aims to have in-depth study on Oboe which is originated from the ancient time of human-beings. Its graceful timbre and singing performance is well recognized and studied widely. As a Oboe player, the author has been realized the importance of elementary practice during the learning and playing oboe, and this is also the major difficulty which will effect the improvement of on-going practice. Therefore,in order to master the playing skills and music performance, the Oboe player should put sufficient attention onto the elementary practice, which is also the natural transforming process from the quantitative changes to the qualitative.For the preparation of this article, the author has read lots of articles and books about the elementary training and methodology of Oboe, with the combination of years of practice and study. The writer chose "48 practice melodies" (written by Ferling) as a sample, and specialized on the elementary practice of oboe, which include breath, nozzle, fingering, then move to the music score analysis of "48 practices melodies", and lastly, the assistance of "48 practice melodies" onto the most difficult phase among the concerto. Through these 3 aspects, this article will try to indicate and deeper study the importance and application of Oboe elementary practice.
