Nowadays, there are more exchanges and cooperation between China and the West countries in the field of the medical science. The analysis of varied medical casebooks has been playing an important role in the treatment of patients. The main medical casebooks related in the report are mainly concerning the cancer and tumor with special features of medical science in language, which determine the special, professional, and vital quality of the translation on medical casebooks.In the field of the medical science, for the translation report on medical casebooks in China develops later than the Western countries, it is relatively new. Therefore, the translation on medical casebooks can assist the medical technology, summarize the clinical practices, explore the regulation of disease, offer the law basis of medical disputes, and, more importantly, improve to exchange the art of healing in China and in Western countries.The author has selected the typical medical casebooks prepared for the 17th Annual Meeting of Chinese Society and Clinical Oncology (CSCO) as the objects of study and recorded the process of translation. With the literature retrieval, the report witnesses author’s translation process and experience. Guided by E. A. Nida’s Translation Equivalence, the report analyzes the problems during the translation, concludes the experience and feelings to such type of texts, and summarizes some translation skills to solve the problems.The author hopes to offer some examples and references for the translators who will translate medical casebooks in the future. Meanwhile, it may help the medical personnel in different countries and some foreign cross-border patients. It may also make some contribution to the field of translation on medical casebooks.
