This report is written based on the preparation and practical performance of the simultaneous interpretation on the Fifth China-US Gynecological Tumor International Diagnosis Academic Seminar. Analyzed the translation text extracted from the conference video and the scripts of the interpretation, the author lists the weakness and some obvious problems in the actual interpreting process. Based on the Effort Model proposed by Daniel Gile (1995), the author comes up with some helpful solutions and strategies. The practice report is divided into four parts:the general description of the interpreting task, the process of interpreting, case studies and the conclusion of this practice. The first part is a brief introduction of the interpreting task and its general background. The second part discusses the whole interpreting task, division of the task and relevant preparations in detail. The third part is mainly based on the audio recordings from practical interpretation. It analyzes the applications of interpreting skills and some typical problems encountered in the process of interpretation. The theoretical basis is the Effort Model of Daniel Gile (1995). In the fourth part, the author summarizes the harvest from her own experience in the interpretation and reflects on some potential problems. The report introduces the background of this interpreting task and analyzes the simultaneous interpretation with theoretical supports from the perspective of meeting interpretation. The report also discusses the features of medical terminology and relevant criteria of medical English translation into Chinese. The author is aware of her own weakness from this practical interpretation, which is of great importance for her further improvement.
