The Research Problems In The Translation Of Chinese Language Text Book And Ways To Solve Them

The main objective of the research is to study the translation challenges of Chinese language textbook and the solutions on how to do it correctly, based on the “Elementary Chinese Language” textbook, first and second edition, published by the Beijing Language and Culture University. After the translation of the textbook, according to the analyses, the meanings of words did not match because of the two differing countries’ cultures; and also difficulty in translating correctly were faced often because the words were not translated in the Chinese-Mongolian dictionary. Appropriate translation solutions were recommended for the challenges of translating idioms, phrases, words used on daily basis, and similar words from the textbook. The research has been divided into three sections, excluding the introduction.The introduction consists of reason for research, significance of the research,comparative analysis of similar research, and research methodology.Section 1, the science of translating Chinese textbook, in which rules,characteristics, and method of translation are explained.Section 2, the challenges faced when translating Chinese textbook, in which vocabulary, special wording, and translation difficulty of sentences are studied with examplesSection 3, the appropriate translation method, in which numerous translation solutions are recommended for many difficult translation challengesAdditionally, the Chinese-Mongolian translations of 37 idioms, 24 special wordings, 57 proper nouns, 70 everyday phrases, 36 words with no Mongolian translations, and linguistic glossary are attached to the research.
