The interpretation of new words in the teaching materials of the course teaching in Chinese as a Foreign Language occupies a crucial position. The accurate of the interpretation plays a quite supporting role for the studying of language learners and the teaching of course of teachers. Conversational Chinese 301 is a kind of book for teaching materials published by Beijing Language which is the representative of the teaching Chinese as Foreign; it has been widely used and deeply carried on in China. Thus this thesis consider the interpretation of new words in the book Conversational Chinese 301 as the research object to investigate and research which aims to propose some feasible advice of the improving for the book, the concrete content arranged as follows:Chapter 1 is introduction which including the reason for selecting thesis, researching status and relevant theoretical research. The reason for selecting thesis unfolded from of the perspective of the importance of the interpretation of new words for the compiling of the book of teaching Chinese as a foreign language; researching status explained the materials from three aspects: the problem of the interpretation of new words, the mode of the interpretation of new words, the principle of the interpretation of new words; relevant theoretical include the function of interpretation and explanation, the theory of disparity and won–disparity.Chapter 2 is the general situation of new words and the analysis of interpretation for new words. The author inspects the general situation of new words and the analysis of interpretation for new words in the book Conversational Chinese 301. The inspection of general situation of new words is from three aspects, the first aspect is the selected scope of new words, the second aspect is distribution of new words, and the last aspect is the reproduction of new words. The inspection the of analysis of new words is also from three aspects, which is the performed form of new words interpretation the content of new words and the relationship between new words and the interpretation of new words.Chapter 3 is the analysis of effect and problem in the interpretation of new words, the analysis is based on the total surrey and the effect of new words interpretation. According to the performed form of problem, the author divided the problem of interpretation into two parts, which is the accurate problem and directed problem respectively. the accurate problem includes the problem of “the interpretation is out of the context of text”, “the interpretation of the errors of words”, “the interpretation the discrepancy in language”, but the directed problem mainly includes “the simultaneous interpretation between the synonymy and hyponymy”, “the using scope of the unmarked new words”, “the simple interpretation for function words”, “the over lapping of meanings and the part of speech”.Chapter 4 is the contrasted survey and the improving strategy of the interpretation of new words, the proposal the improving strategy is based on the problem in chapter 3 and interpretation. The contrasted surrey regards the learner of the material book as the survey target and do a contrasted survey between the original content of interpretation and the revised content, the relevant effective improving strategy proposed according to the contrasted reset.At last, the thesis summarizes the main content, new findings and the limitations in the conversion part.
