| This paper studies on three Tang poetic works of Qu Fu---The Creative Law of Tang-dynasty Poems, Reviews of Tu Fu’s Poems and The Poetry of Li Shangyin. It inspects the content, the methods and the poetic thoughts of Tang-dynasty poetry reviews by Qu Fu, and focuses on his main criticism works of Tu Fu and Li Shangyin.Therefore, it could thoroughly interprets the value and deficiency of Qu Fu’s Tang poetic criticism.This paper is divided into six parts:The foreword is a research overview of Qu Fu, which sketches Qu’s life and works, the history of Qu’s poetics study. It also explains the importance of this selected topic, research techniques, and research idea etc.Chapter one discusses a general picture of Qu Fu’s three critical works about Tang-dynasty poetics. It mainly presents their historical version, circulation and stylistic layouts of The Creative Law of Tang-dynasty Poems, Reviews of Tu Fu’s Poems and The Poetry of Li Shangyin to let the readers understand the three works of Qu’s Tang poetics initially.Chapter two is a study of the theoretical research of Qu’s Tang poetic criticism.It starts with historical source and specific criticism of Qu’s methods with grasping on methodology studies of Qu’s Tang poetics as a whole. This chapter also combs the sequence of Chinese traditional poetic thought and argues that Qu’s inheritance on progenitors, finally formed his own poetic theory and uses it to some specific Tang-dynasty poetic reviews.Chapter three is a criticism theory of Qu’s critism on Tu Fu’s poems. It starts with historical source and poetry rules of of Tu’s works, and studies Qu’s concrete critics on them. Qu was accomplished in pushing the origin of Tu’s poems to his traditional impacts, which include The Book of Songs, The Songs of Chu and poetry from the Six Dynasties, and brought far-reaching impacts to the later poets like Han Yu and Li Shangyin. Qu also made hairlike analysis to Tu’s poems from the subtle parts, which mainly described in multiple theories.Chapter four is a criticism theory of Qu’s critism on Li Shangyin’s poems. It expounds from both textual methods and value judgments in The Poetry of LiShangyin, compares this book to some annotations, which includes Lu Kunceng and Yao Peiqian’s version, over the same period and highlights the “pinningâ€characteristic of Qu’s criticism dialectically.The conclusion sums the value and limitation of Qu Fu’s Tang-dynasty poetics in four pieces: the stylistic layout, the substance, the form and the scholariness. As the stylistic layout, it had problematical awareness. As the substance, it based on poetics to guide poem learners. As the form, it was adept in arousing the significance of poems. As the scholariness, it had both techniques of writing by historians and graces of poets. The limitation of Qu’s poetics was embodied in some parts which follow the same pattern etc.Above all, Qu Fu’s Tang poetic criticism was not only a characterized classic but also a complete collection of poetry creation. It will remain nonnegligible importance in Chinese poetic history. |
