Modern Design and Modern Design Education sharing a common historical background, are a product of industrialization, both of which are derived from the industrial society. The world of Modern Design and Modern Design Education has gone through nearly a century. Our Modern Design Education germinated in the late Qing Dynasty, imported in the period of the Republic of China, explored in the early period of People’s Republic of China, really practiced in the 1980 s. More importantly, our Modern Design Education thanked to the experience of western design education and advanced design concepts and teaching art method. And then, Arts and Crafts Education transformed into Modern Design Education. "Historical factors", which were market economic development, political reform, prosperity of the cultural market, and high-tech. Modern Design Education had entered a rapid development period, but also with the adjustment of industrial structure, the new economy and international integration trend. Therefore, China’s Modern Design Education faced major opportunities and challenges.In the process of education development, Chinese modern design education experience infancy, formation stage, development stage. The Chinese modern design education by the Chinese social change, traditional culture and education subject classification and the influence of such factors as constraints.As a result, analysis Chinese historical factors to the efect with Chinese modern design education and the problems existing in the development of Chinese modern design education is the value of this research.Face the problems of the development in Chinese modern design education,we should create the modern design education systemand develop the future modern design education,in order to realize the rationality of the Chinese modern design education development.
