A Practice Report On Chinese Translation Of Sentence Pattern Reconstruction In The Book Think And Grow Rich For Women

With the development of economy and society,there are lots of excellent and outstanding businesswomen and business leaders all over the world.Meanwhile,this phenomenon leads to the hot trend of series of business books.These types of books attract peoples’ attention because they focus on businesswomen and business leaders’ performance.More and more women will become more confident and women will get more successful in their family and career by reading this book.The Book Think and Grow Rich for Women is not only a self-improvement book but also it is a book filled with energy and optimism.The author participated in the translation practice of Think and Grow Rich for Women and got some meaningful experience.By translating the book,the author’s translation ability has improved.However the author has translation difficulty in reconstructing the different sentence patterns.First,there are lots of complex sentences in the text,the sentence is long and sentence structure is complex.It has some subordinate clauses.Second,there are many passive sentences in the text,it can cause misunderstanding for readers.Third,as word order of English and Chinese has some differences,we cannot always follow the original text order.According to the three problems mentioned in the second paragraph,the author mainly studied sentence reconstruction and used different methods to solve it.First of all,the author used spilt methods to solve complex sentences reconstruction.Second,the author used shift of voice to tackle the problem of passive sentences reconstruction.Third,the author used pre-location method to solve the problem of word order reconstruction in English-Chinese.It is aimed at making text more simple and clear so that it can meet reading habits and thinking ways of target language readers and guide Chinese women’ career and personal lives.
