The Practice Report Of Interpreting Notes

With the continuous development of politics, economy and cultural, the communications between countries have become more frequent, so there’s a sharp increase in the demand for interpreters and translators, and at the same time the requirements on the quality of translators and interpretation are increasing gradually. Along with the rapid development of the field of interpretation, the skill that interpretation notes begins to enter people’s vision. Interpretation notes can reduce the load of the brain, and assist the translators’ memory, which has an indispensable role for guaranteeing interpretation quality.The textual material of this paper comes mainly from interpreting courses including interpreting practice and interpreting workshops, as well as the author’s independent practice made with the People’s Daily News and NHK news. It covers the contents of multiple fields of economy, culture, trade, tourism and commerce. Through these practices, the author’s knowledge reserve, adaptability and the ability of interpretation note improvement are all got a certain promotion.The main research method used in this paper is to refer to the achievements of the previous research notes related to interpretation, and mainly to consult the relevant literature analyzing interpretation notes from the perspective of cognitive science, thus to summarize, compare, and sort. By comparing Japanese interpretation notes with English interpretation notes, the features of Japanese interpretation notes are further explored. On the basis of cognitive motivation, combined with my interpretation notes practice, the feasible note skills are summarized.The conclusion of this paper is that taking notes selectively and purposively and distributing energy reasonably, are helpful to produce high quality translations. No matter what method is used, as long as the note plays a suggestive role on memory effectively, and helps the translators complete the translation task smoothly and accurately, then it works correctly. Knowing this, we will be able to choose our own interpretation notes skills, to achieve the ultimate goal of improving the ability of interpretation.
