This report is based on the book—Xingyiquan which is one of the textbooks compiled by Wushu Research Institute of the General Administration of China. The whole book has over30 thousand characters, one third of which is translated by the author. This material is related to Chinese culture and people’s views about the translation methods of Wushu are different. Some hold the view of foreignization, and some domestification. About this dispute, the author adopts the combination of foreignization and domestification based on the translation theory of skopos to ensure that the Chinese traditional culture can be spread on one hand and that the readers of the target language can accept the language on the other hand. In the translation of Wushu, there always exists a problem, that is, multiple translations about one word. This phenomenon causes a difficult problem for the author to choose one appropriate word. On this problem, the author selects the expression that the author regards as the most appropriate according to the purpose of the translation. This report is divided into two parts, the first of which is the translation practice and the second is the analysis and report of the translation practice. In the second part, the author uses four sections to illustrate the whole translation practice. In the first section, the author introduces the text type of this material, the channel which the author got the material from and the significance of this translation practice. In the second section, the author presents the whole process of the translation practice, including the preparation before the translation, the process of doing the concrete translation and the revision after the translation. In the third section, the author lists the difficult points when doing the translation and ways that the author solves these problems. At last, the author analyzes and concludes her feelings about this practice and her inspirations that she gets from this task.
